Cambodian social enterprise
Start: ASAP
3-6 months
Tailored Volunteer Programme
Our partner is a social enterprise which makes crafts products out of recycled plastic bags in order to provide a sustainable income and livelihood for the people in the rural village of Chamcar Bei, Cambodia. Soon they will be undertaking an international expansion, and need an experienced accountant to help them prepare. This is a great assignment for someone looking for a varied role and comfortable in both major cities and very rural locations.
This role would be split between two locations, with approximately 25% of your time in Phnom Penh, and 75% in Chamcar Bei, a small village just outside of Kep.
You will be the second volunteer at this partner, and will follow on from their initial assessment and work. Your main objective will be to help the accountant and project manager bring the accounts up to standard in advance of major expansion; this will include, among other items, the design and production of accounting and costsing manual, policies and procedures.
Please note this placement will incur the AfID Tailored Volunteer Programme fee: £695 (Concessions £495).
