AfID is very pleased to announce our newest partner and the first ever in the Philippines. Based in the Cavite Province just south of Manila this locally run organisation provide loans and vital training to start-up business and individuals that are struggling to get the funding they desperately need. Alongside providing the financial resources that help begin and grow the business they also provide the training and skills necessary to make them sustainable. Not only do they hope to drastically improve the economic situation of these poorer neighbourhoods but they also wish to bring the community together through their programme.

As the first AfID volunteer at the organisation your role would be akin to conducting an internal audit. You will need to gain an understanding of the organisation and its structure, assessing its existing financial procedures and controls, and making recommendations/implementing changes that you deem necessary. This is of vital importance because not only will you help the organisation during your assignment but your assessment and reports will form the basis for future assignments.
