All is well, am busy with All Ears and getting to know the city.
Work’s been good– I’ve almost finished with the basic bookkeeping course for the 3 girls who make up the clinical team, after which I’ll be moving onto financial planning with the Director.
For the bookkeeping course I made Powerpoint presentations and exercises based on the Mango material (but also tailored to how All Ears operates) – it might be of use to people further down the line so I’ll pass it onto you when it’s completed and I’ve tidied up the loose ends on it.
It’s very very basic, going for the cash accounting approach with adjustments at year-end (the “hybrid approach” referred to in the Mango guide) but I guess this isn’t unusual for small NGOs in developing countries.
Next week the girls are doing Outreach clinics in some places on the coast so I’m tagging along, am looking forward to the beach as the heat in the city can get a bit much!
