An unusual stock take in Pondicherry

So begins my most unusual stock take assessing the clothes we have for the street children whom we take over night care of at our shelter.

As part of my assignment I have been asked to look at Kalki's inventory. There are a lot of clothes there so we have to ask each of the kids to show us what they are wearing. In turn they proudly show us their little piles of clothes, calling out the numbers of jetties (pants), chapples (shoes) and churidars (trousers) they have. It becomes slightly crazy with 35, 18 month to 14 year olds, running around asking to be next but its certainly entertaining!

Next morning I prepare new spreadsheets which can be used to keep track of clothing and highlight where any new items need to be purchased. I explain to the Administrator how to use the spreadsheet and with her make a few amendments so that every one is happy and able to use the forms going forward.
