Childreach International Tanzania country office opened in April 2009 and works with local communities within the Kilimanjaro region of Tanzania implementing projects for developing primary and further education. The office is led by local staff, who understand the most pressing local needs and remain close to project sites.

In Tanzania, Childreach hopes to unlock the potential of Tanzanian children through three programmes: School Improvement: Vocational Training Centres and Carbon Offsetting Programme.
School Improvement Programme
Childreach's school improvement projects, among other things, construct and renovate classrooms, toilets, teachers’ houses and nursery schools in government primary schools to enable school children to study in a comfortable and safe environment. The programme focuses on primary schools in mostly rural areas, where the situation is worse so as to protect children with common diseases such as diarrhoea, infections, cholera and also to make the schools safe and attractive place for children to go. Through this programme many children have been motivated to attend school, which has resulted in reduced absenteeism and school drop-out rates.
Vocational Training Centres
The aim of the programme is to provide technical skills to children, who had no access to secondary/college education through vocational training. The Vocational Training Centres develop the potential of vulnerable and socially excluded youths through the provision of training in skills such as carpentry, tailoring, IT, Maths, and Basic English, which enables them to find employment and play an active role in society.
Carbon Offsetting in Tanzania
Childreach International has recently become a carbon offset provider, based around an ethos of sustainable development and community involvement, they deliver community based greenhouse gas reduction projects across the developing world. Aside from the vast amounts of CO2 saved, their unique projects are specifically designed to meet the needs of communities in the developing world as a priority, bringing numerous economic, social and environmental benefits to the areas they work in.
