Sharana Social is a non-profit development organization, whose foundational commitment is that all human beings are equal in rights and dignity. They believe in promoting personal development that empowers individuals to improve their living conditions and achieve full self-reliance, while respecting each person’s self-worth.

 In this respect they try and help children who, for one reason or the other, have to work. They are very much opposed to child-labour but understand that for a family sometimes there does not seem to be any other solution. 
                   

Sharana puts a special emphasis on providing opportunities for the families so that they can allow the schooling of their children. In pursuing this objective, Sharana works with families in an integral way while providing these opportunities for their children. We support in particular families of very poor communities in their effort at self-improvement.
 

Sharana has initiated two development programmes and an empowerment programme:

• A schooling programme that allows children of underprivileged families to pursue a formal education.
• A community development programme that focuses on improving living conditions for families of very poor communities
• Women's Economic Empowerment Programme through Micro - Credit
