St. John is proud to be the leading provider of First Aid Training and Emergency Medical Services in the country. From ambulance response to highly trained First Aiders always on the ready, St John is certainly the 'first to care'. St John Kenya exists to be the leading organisation of volunteers with members and supporters providing first aid, essential emergency services, increasing capacity to save lives and ensuring the provision of healthcare in communities.

St. John offers a diverse range of activities which have been designed to meet the needs of the communities they serve in Kenya. Their members offer First Aid and emergency care at accidents and incidents, give selfless service to the communities in which they live, offer First Aid cover at public events and training our vast youth network in personal development and leadership programmes among other things. Some of St. John Kenya’s projects and achievements include:

  • Provision of First Aid training for members of the public, Governmental Organisations, Corporate bodies and the Private Sector.
  • Provision of health education to communities within the Regions.
  • Undertaking Medical and Food camps
  • Safe mother hood – capacity building for community members for safe motherhood
  • Provision of ambulances for emergencies.
  • Provision of First Aid training for communities living around black spot areas to enable them respond to emergencies.

Through partnerships with various organizations, St John Kenya has streamlined HIV/AIDS issues and integrated them into our programmes for volunteers. Their interventions include Peer education, Home base care, Micro-enterprise, Voluntary Counselling and Testing (VCT) centres.

St. John Kenya’s hopes to be at the heart of the nation we serve as volunteers in the provision of a continuous community service ensuring every household has access to a trained first aider, a world class emergency response and is empowered to care for their health needs.
