LONDON | Senior Project Manager in INGO | £38-42k

Our partner is a leading international development agency working in partnership with associations in Africa, Asia, Latin America, the Caribbean and the Middle East to create opportunities for vulnerable young people and their communities.  

You would be part of a newly created global programmes team, amid structural changes within the organisation. This role would allow for high exposure to all programmes and other business areas within the organisation.

You will be working with the Heads of Departments across a range of divisions in the organisation to identify and construct projects that support the organisation’s undertaking of delivering projects that will efficiently impact on children’s lives across their international and UK-based programmes. You will also provide management support to a London based financial team.

Key deliverables:
  • Build relationships with all collaborators, throughout the organisation, to ensure the efficient delivery and alignment of projects
  • Support the Head of the team and Deputy Head to identify and develop projects.
  • Complete realistic project plans with respect to resources  – ensure deadlines are adhered to
  • Lead the development of identified projects, recognising priorities and risks. Communicating with team members and key stakeholders to monitor and resolve issues
  • Provide budget analysis support to finance managers
  • Line manage a team of 2
  • Provide project support to all team members where applicable
  • Identify improvement areas and implement relevant changes where appropriate.
 
This role is suited to an individual with a finance background, but you do not need to be a qualified accountant or a qualified Programme Manager to apply; a candidate with 5 - 10 years’ of experience within finance/programme management would be ideal for this role.  You should have financial planning and budgeting experience. It is important that you possess strong analytical and problem solving skills, excellent communication skills and an adaptability to work with complicated structures. You should have excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong working relationships with colleagues at all levels, and should be a strong, influential and cooperative leader.

Experience of working overseas is desirable, but not essential.

You will be joining a young and ambitious team where there is a lot of opportunity to move across the wide range of programmes within the organisation.

There is scope for travel in the role, if desired.
