This  is a blog of my trip to Lilongwe, Malawi, to volunteer for the charity African Vision Malawi for 6 weeks organised by the team at AfID (Accounting for International Development). 

The objective is to review all their financial controls, procedures, reporting and finance systems and to recommend improvements. Sounds dull? Well, for someone who has only been to Africa for one week previously and has never in his life been out of the UK for more than 3 weeks consecutively, this is something of an adventure – hopefully involving new sights, experiences and people that will inspire me.
