Ka Paa Kwa Geh Development Association (KDA), Suakoko, Liberia

KDA began in 2015 as a collection of Village Saving and Loan Associations in and around Bong County, serving members in rural areas to save and access small loans. To date there are about 90 different schemes supporting local communities, to the number of 2700 members. In 2016 they also started a community radio station and advocacy platform, the Voice of Suakoko. From 2017 they started to introduce a more formal structure to offer a wider support, which now includes a school scholarship programme, a multipurpose farmers’ cooperative and credit union to support small business. These are being structured now and will be launched shortly.
