Luz Verde is a social project creating employment and supporting communities’ own development in Northern Nicaragua powered by three social enterprises: Café Luz y Luna; the International Hostel Luna and the Tourism Office Treehuggers.
Proyecto Chavaladas help to rehabilitate street children who have become addicted to drugs and are living in especially difficult circumstances. The organisation provides the children with the opportunity to work towards reintegration into family and school through a comprehensive intervention programme which includes prevention and awareness of these issues.
Quetzaltrekkers exist to provide financial assistance to underfunded community development projects in and around León. The organisation were founded in 2004 and are based in the historical city of León in Nicaragua.
REN have crafted a network of business women across Nicaragua with the intention of liberating them by assisting them in their quest for financial independence. This helps to subvert the traditional role of women in society and gives them financial empowerment.
Sonati focuses on Nicaragua's beautiful ecosystem, teaching children and their families about nature conservation, recycling and animal protection, and funding itself through hostels and tours.
