Centre ValBio (CVB), Ranomafana, Madagascar

Centre ValBio is a project run by the Institute for the Conservation of Tropical Environments (ICTE), created to help both indigenous people and the international community better understand the value of conservation in Madagascar and around the world through research, training and education. It encourages responsible use of natural resources in order to promote sustainable development in Madagascar. They provide local villagers with the knowledge and tools to improve the quality of life through projects focused on sanitation, diet, and education, and ultimately reduce poverty in the area. They also promote research, ICTE runs a research station through CVB which focuses on biodiversity and health. Their education and outreach focuses on reforestation, biodiversity conservation and improved health and hygiene.
