Child Helpline Cambodia, Phnom Penh, Cambodia

Child Helpline Cambodia is guided by a vision that children and youth in Cambodia grow up free from violence, abuse and exploitation within a comprehensive child protection system and are able to fully realize their rights and potential.
Its mission is to promote child rights and to build opportunities for the protection of children and youth through the provision of professional phone counseling, information services and referral and follow up services with appropriate partners.

CHC’s Core Values are:

·         We value children
·         We value respect
·         We listen to children
·         We believe in empowerment
·         We are confidential
CHC’s long-term aim is to establish a Child Helpline available for any child or young person who needs someone with whom to talk or provide support. CHC believes that it is vital to include youth aged 18-25 years in its services because this age group is vulnerable to similar problems that children face in a rural and traditional society undergoing rapid development and modernization. In addition, this age group is often unable to access services which support those less than 18 years.

CHC will focus on all children and youth, not only the groups of children in especially difficult circumstances who tend to already attract significant amounts of funding and services, such as trafficked, commercially sexually exploited.
CHC is also implementing a project of prevention of child sexual abuse in travel and tourism. This project is targeting young people in Phnom Penh, Siem Reap and Preah Sihanouk with awareness raising activities and delivery of professional free phone counseling, information service and referral and follow up.
